Come and say hello!

Hi, I'm Emma, and you're listening to the consciously connected podcast, a space where I chat to creators, and quite often to myself around forming a connection with me to connect to our outer worlds more clearly. I, myself am a yoga teacher, and our Vedic practitioner, and a womb science facilitator. Combined, this was five years in marketing. And you have me trying to draw both of my worlds together to help creators create consciously. If this is something that you're interested in learning more about, you can find me over at conscious creative co underscore on Instagram. For now, let's get on with the show. Hi, and welcome to another episode. I'm so excited to be recording this episode, because this is something I talk about all of the time. And it's something that I really, really believe in and feel passionately about. And that is your business blueprint. I want to begin this episode with a little caveat, because the word blueprint actually makes me really angry, I have to be honest. And the reason why is because I think blueprint often triggers something within me, that makes me think that there's like one way of doing things, there's this one blueprint that we all need to follow. And it is the only way to do things, it is the complete roadmap to success. And if you just follow this blueprint, you're going to get exactly where you want to be. Now, there may be an element of truth behind that. I know that there's many different business techniques that you can use that a guaranteed probably to get you to maybe a financial figure or a certain number of clients, or certain recognition for your business, whatever it is that you are motivated by externally. And I'm not disputing that that is true. But the thing for me is that when you follow somebody else's recipe for success, there's no guarantee that that is actually going to feel good for you.
The way I see a blueprint is really just kind of like my business foundation. It's what everything ties into. It is ultimately what means that I can show up in the way that I want to show up while still reaching financial targets, whatever goals I have within my business. And I think for a while I massively hid away from that, and never wanted to set any financial goals. I never wanted to have any targets. I never wanted to have any structure. If you just said the word blueprint to me a year ago, I would have ran a mile, because I was so deep in my feminine energy, only wanting to show up when I felt cool to show up. Never really wanting to have any structure, wanting everything to be intuitive, just wanting to serve. And the thing with that is that it was a very beautiful time of my life. And it was very necessary part of the process. But before long, I was burnt out, I was resentful, I was disconnected. So unmotivated, just feeling really lost. And the reason being was because it wasn't upheld by anything, there was no support there. I think we often think that we desire total total freedom. But I'm a volunteer type. And if you're unaware of your data type, I highly recommend exploring it. I include it in the first aligned section of the AAA because it governs how I run my business, it's really important. And being a Varta type means that I'm very airy, I have million and one thoughts going through my mind all the time. And just by nature, very inconsistent, very creative, everything you kind of associate with that error element. And without some sort of structure, I go round in circles, and I just really, really struggle. But I had this problem where he failed structure. I was just terrified of it. But I wasn't getting anywhere without it. And I think one of the reasons that I really feared this structure is because I held this idea of a blueprint. Being this rigid, one way of doing things that didn't allow for my unique expression. As a Varta type, I actually really thrive off of change. So having this one blueprint, this is what I thought in my mind having this one blueprint that kept me to doing things a particular way just never felt like it was going to serve me. And so I decided to rewrite the concept of a business blueprint. And essentially the process for creating this is based on the vision that I have for my business. So the vision I want to bring to life and then the values that uphold that for Vision and this is something we dive into within the first week of the AAA, you can actually join this part of the course for free. And it is essentially really connecting to what feels good for you. What do you want to uphold what is going to mean that you can remain in alignment in your business while still creating impact? It's not about just always being in line with yourself, but it's also about being in line with your greater purpose within that. And so that's really the first step. How do I want to work. So for example, a lot of my clients come to me and they say that they want freedom, they really want to feel free. That's why they started their own business. And then when I come to look at where their business is at right now, they're offering like 10 yoga classes a week, all in one single location. That means that they're not free at all. These are people that want to travel, they want to be able to take time off when they want, they want to be able to just go with their energy each week. But they have this rigid, time sensitive, location sensitive commitment each and every week, which is actually bringing them in a fairly low income. Because money isn't the only way to tap into freedom, but it really does help. And so they're kind of stuck in this cycle where their business doesn't feel aligned. They love teaching yoga, they love the practice, they love sharing it with the world, but in the way that they're currently doing it. It's not aligned to their values, it doesn't actually feel good for them. And this is where we have to begin when we think about creating a blueprint that works for us, this is really the starting place. Then we start to move on to okay, well what can we actually offer? And what offerings feel authentic, feel good feel aligned to us. And as I said, in the whole first section, we really dive into what does feel aligned for you. So if you're feeling like you don't really know,
this is the place to start what feels like the what styles of work do you thrive in? Do you love holding spaces for groups? Do you love the intimacy on one on one? Do you actually not really want to be involved? Do you want passive income? So that is a place that we start with here of like, okay, where do I feel most in my zone of genius. And if you aren't aware of what that is, I highly recommend reading the big leap, which really outlines how when we operate outside of our zone of genius, so the things that light us up the field, that things that feel expansive, give us energy, we're ultimately just draining our energy when we don't do that. So for me, showing up live on Instagram is something I have 00 desire to do. And if I was constantly doing that, each week, I know for a fact that I would start to notice an energy leak, it wouldn't feel good for me to do that. Because it's not something I enjoy doing, I have zero desire to do it, maybe you feel the same about something else, which is really painted as like a shirt in this industry, maybe you know that it just wouldn't feel good for you to do it. So really considering what kinds of offerings light you up, feel good feel energised feel, okay to do. Like they feel that it's okay for you to show up in that way.
And then to start to think about how you can take that and really draw it into offering map. And if you don't know what offering map is, this is something that I go through extensively in AAA, and it is essentially about how to map your offerings together. So they tie into one another. And they're also mapped in a way where you can shop in a way that feels good knowing that you've got consistent income, knowing that your unique style of work is taken care of knowing that they're spaced always build on this. So the concept for me for a business blueprint is having this foundation that I then build on. So for example, this if I talk about my own offering map, you can work with me on a 90 minute call basis, you can work with me on one to one coaching, or you can join myself study programmes. And for me, that is kind of the base of my business that is my core offering. But I build on that all the time. Maybe I feel like there's a topic that I'm really experiencing and I really want to share on it. So I released a 60 minute masterclass on it. And maybe that leads into my greater offerings that bring me more consistent income and a really kind of the those foundational elements. But for me, I know that I need a business blueprint that allows so much creativity, so much change so much newness, but if all I have in my business is newness, constantly creating new things all of the time. I know my style of working, I start to feel overwhelmed. I start to feel really really disjointed because I'm a very like chaotic mind person. And actually, what I find is that I don't want to do anything at all because it feels overwhelming for me. So that is why I've created a business blueprint that has these structures. that has these ways of working with me that really, really feel good for my energy. And then when I'm in a flow of wanting to create new things, I always have that space to do that. And this is an example. But maybe for you actually, you thrive of just having the same thing. One thing that really shocks clients when they come to work with me is I'm like, You do not need to have multiple offerings, if you don't want to, in as speak about creating a signature offer. And for some people, your signature offer is the only thing that you have. And that's totally fine. Again, you might need to create new things to lead people into that. But just having that foundation, if you believe you've created a programme that fully encompasses your vision, your purpose is creating impact. You do not need to be constantly releasing new things. And this is where a blueprint that is supportive of your style of work can really help you. Because instead you can start to look at okay, well how many people do I need to invite into that? If I have these goals within my business? How will this offering meet those goals? Again, if you're somebody that offers lots of different offerings, it's about understanding where they actually lead to so many of my clients have no idea where each of their offerings earn them. And this is where blueprint offers that kind of information. Okay, I can see each of the offerings, each of the things I want to share with the world, and how it ties into that bigger picture of vision, how it creates impact, how it meets my financial goals, whatever goals you're driven by, like I said, at the start, whatever things that you feel driven to, maybe it's where you feel most and alignment with yourself, whatever it is, knowing that what you are putting out into the world actually helps you reach that place. Because if you have this vision and this sense of purpose, and you're going around in circles, feeling like you're never actually really fulfilling it. It's so important to take this time to think okay, well, what am I actually doing to fulfil it? Am I just creating and releasing things for the sake of it? Have I seen this way of doing things that I'm just copying? Because that's what I believe will bring me the success I desire? Or am I actually in tune with, okay, what feels good for me to offer, and what reaches my goals, because that's the sweet spot. And then, like I said, we think about how to draw people into these offerings. So we think about ways that we can create invitations for people to explore the work that we do, how many clients will need to feel safe to feel secure, to have this consistency, how many things we want to be releasing, when we want to release them? Do we want to work on a structure where we have three months on three months off? Do we like to show up once a week, twice a week, once a month, these things are so important to consider. And within this, we have this layer of cyclic mapping as well, which is something that I talk about in AAA. So for me, I have three weeks on one week off, and that one week off is around my bleed.
And I'm also looking at hosting things maybe for like twice a year, three months of the year. So then those are the three months I have space I love to travel. I realised last year I have a whole episode on this that I don't actually really love working in travelling. I like to be able to travel and have space and to really be absorbed into the laid back culture at a places I'm travelling to. So does my business blueprint support that? Or does it require me to show up we can week out? When actually works for you to show up? Are you a morning person? Do you work best in the morning? Do you work best in the evening, when you truly understand your uniqueness, your style of working, what your values are asking from you, then you can start to create your business in a way that actually feels good for you. You can decide what offerings work for you, when you want to show up, how you're going to be reaching these goals that are going to bring you a sense of fulfilment, how you can find fulfilment right now in the process, the journey of building this business. And this is a huge, huge topic. And I've only really scratched the surface on it here. But I just wanted to shine some light on. If you are feeling like you're not really getting anywhere in your business, like you're not where you need to be financially, you're not feeling like you're having an impact, you're feeling totally out of alignment.
